Last week when I spewed my working mom advice, I mentioned about having clothes that you feel good in. I got a couple of comments and emails from women who mentioned they were struggling in this area.
So, I decided I needed to go online shopping for you all to let you in on a few of my favorite styles and places to shop.
Let’s begin with work. No work, no play.
My first go to stop is The Limited.
They carry long pants first of all that are washable too. A must for me since I am 5’10” tall.
I am loving that trouser pants are still here this fall. But one of the things that I am really excited about is the color palette I am seeing.
If I can’t find what I need at The Limited, the next stop is Ann Taylor. They have some great vests and ruffled open sweaters. Love the layers this fall.
Again, they sell pants in a bit longer lengths that are machine washable. Although, I do have a few dry clean only pieces from Ann Taylor. Love the wide leg trousers.
But, I have to admit, I have several cardigans that I love from Ann Taylor, and the next to buy include this shrug.
And again, I am drawn to the colors this fall.
I have always browsed the J. Crew site and stores, but never taken the leap to pay the extra for their clothes until recently. What on earth was I waiting for??? It was worth the investment. Check out this cape. Loving all the cape choices this fall.
What I also love about J. Crew is the transition from work to casual for many of their pieces, including the cable sweaters.
Another online store that my working mom friend, Katie, introduced me to is Boden. Again they carry TALL!!! Can you see a trend here? I have never ordered anything, yet. But I have a few things picked out.
So, I don’t work all the time and sometimes work is a bit more casual. So, where do you find mommy play clothes? I get several more casual pieces at the above stores, but then I checkout the Gap & Banana Republic.
But, when I need jeans, I go to one place only now. I used to shop here when I was younger, you know B.C.-Before Children. After some coaxing from my nanny and a dear friend who happens to be a fellow farmer’s wife, I went back. Back to the Buckle I went.
They have great clothes for your care-free days. I have several pieces of jewelry and shoes from the Buckle that are some of my favorite accessories too.
So, let’s talk about shoes. I have two favorites when it comes to shoes: Nine West and Zappos.com. I rarely get a pair of dress shoes that aren’t Nine West. These two pairs are on my wish list this fall…Mary Jane’s and a stacked loafer.
But, what I am loving most about fall fashion is the opportunity to pull out boots. Now, I just have to decide which pair of boots to buy.
Which pair do you like? Let me know where you love to shop and what your favorite fall fashion pieces are too. I want some fresh ideas.
