Between the basement and the new floor on our main floor, projects have been constant at our house. I really thought building a house would mean that we wouldn’t have projects to do in the first 10 years. Wrong. The kids have been wanting to help with everything, so when it came time to paint the woodwork for the basement, they were all game.
Their technique left a lot to be desired sometimes. They had fun flinging the paint brushes.
So, daddy would have to come fix the edges and smooth out all the globs.
Sometimes they would look like they were doing so well. (We are big Colts fans, hence the Bears shirt to paint in since she was destined to get paint all over herself. I know, I am a traitor.)
It didn’t take long before they were painting the scrap dry wall instead of the trim. It was so much easier to paint the big board instead of the thin trim.
And of course we got plenty on our hands.
Boy, I can’t wait to show you all the finished products. Even more important, my husband can’t be done for a while.
But this is one way to keep your kids busy all summer. Check out more over Works for Me Wednesdays at https://wearethatfamily.com/.
