We hosted bible class at our house this weekend. When you host, you provide a meal and dessert. It’s summer, so we grilled out. But for dessert, I went for cereal treats that didn’t require the oven. I thought I was taking a risk by turning a box of Fruity Pebbles into dessert. Boy was I wrong!
Let’s face it, we are all kids at heart. When our kids aren’t looking we endulge in the super, sickening sweet cereals too. At the end of the night, their was less than a third of a pan left for my kids. I was thankful!
Fruity Pebbles Treats
1/2 stick butter
10.5 oz. pkg. mini marshmallows
13 oz. box Fruity Pebbles Cereal (about 8-1/2 cups)
Grease a 13×9-inch pan. In a very large bowl, microwave butter on high for 45 sec. or until melted. Add marshmallows and toss to coat. Microwave 1 1/2 min. or until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 45 sec.
Add cereal; mix well. (Grease your spoon or spatula before mixing.)
Place cereal mixture into pan. Spray fingers with PAM and press mixture firmly into pan. Allow mixture to cool. Cut to the size you want. Some folks say to 24 bars.
P.S. Don’t feed to children after 9 p.m. if you plan on sleeping at all.
