We have been working with a certain five year old on tying his own shoes. His teacher has set it as a goal for him for this quarter. But someone is a wee-bit lazy. You decide if it is me or Boo.
But today, I figured out how to get over the hump.
Bribery. Yep. I am not above it. I live by it.
Doesn’t he look proud of himself. He has tied both pars of shoes and one pair has two sets of shoe strings in each shoe.
They were the bribe.
He saw them and wanted them. He didn’t need them. As you saw above, he has a very nice pair of Saucony running shoes. But, then the light bulb went off. Buy them and don’t let him wear them till he ties them himself. After all, what parent wants to tie four strings!
So, Boo wants to make sure you all see how well he is doing with this shoe tying thing.
And, I figure he will get sick of tying four shoe strings, so the Saucony shoes will be standing by and waiting to be tied.
Happy, happy, joy, joy.
Another monumental stage documented in Boo’s life. Score one for this mom!
