To start, the taco meat isn’t your typical taco seasoning meat. I used taco seasoning. Yes, I did. But I also add Ranch seasoning. It gives the meat extra creaminess.

🔥 How to Make Taco Salad with Ranch and Western Dressing
1. Cook and Season the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain the fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and ranch seasoning with ¼ cup water. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the meat is well-coated. Place in the fridge to chill.

2. Assemble the Taco Salad

Easy Taco Salad with French Dressing
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or ground pork, ground chicken or ground turkey
- 1 taco seasoning pack
- 1 tbs ranch seasoning mix
- 2 hearts romaine lettuce chopped
- 1/2 cup onion diced*
- 1 cup sweet corn
- 12 cherry tomatoes halved
- 1 cup black beans
- 1 cup olives*
- 2 cups shredded colby jack cheese
- 1 cup French dressing Western Dressing is my preference
- ½ cup Ranch Dressing
- Large bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain the fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and ranch seasoning with ¼ cup water. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the meat is well-coated. Cool meat immediately in the fridge.
- Toss salad, taco toppings, and cheese together.
- Add salad dressings and toss thoroughly in the taco.
- Add the ground beef taco meat to the salad and stir to combine the taco salad just before serving.
- To serve, crush chips and place on a plate. Add salad and meat to the top of chips. Mix well.
