Making runs to Tropical Smoothie Cafe seems to be all my kids do. I have made it my mission to make their favorite Tropical Smoothie Cafe Smoothies at home. First out of the gate is the Sunset Sunrise Smoothies. These smoothies are great for on the go-breakfasts and fun ways to get lots of fruit into your kids. The smoothies can have yogurt added for protein and even protein or fiber supplements. A sneaky and yummy way to get even more nutrition into everyone’s diets.

How to Make a Tropical Smoothie Cafe Sunrise Sunset Smoothie at Home

The process of making a smoothie is not hard with the right blender and ingredients. My freezer is always full of frozen fruit and the Ninja Blender with Blender cups always sets on my counter.

Combine the three frozen fruits in a blender or blender cups.

Pour the juices over the top of the frozen fruit.

Place the blender lid on the cup and blend. You may need to stir the fruit and juice combination after 30 seconds. Blend the sunrise sunset smoothie again.

These smoothies can be made in a single serve or a blender capacity size. Just double or triple the amounts depending on the number of smoothies you need.

Hint: Have the frozen fruit set on the counter for several minutes before making the smoothie. This will allow for the juices to start to come from the fruit but yet make a frozen smoothie.

Set the fruit out for several minutes before making the Sunrise Sunset smoothie to make sure the pineapple, mango, and strawberries are starting to melt a bit so the natural juices in the fruit are able to help with the blending process.

Fresh fruit can be used in this smoothie. Make sure the fruit is cold. The smoothie just won’t be frozen. You could add ice to make it frozen, but it may water down the flavors of the smoothie.
